What is CO2RE® Intima?
The CO2RE® Intima is a CO2 laser-based technology that is Health-Canada approved for the treatment of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). It is a non-invasive, non-surgical and easy alternative to local or systemic hormones and pelvic floor rehabilitation and surgery. It equally serves a function in restoring aged vaginal appearance.
How does the technology work?
The CO2RE® Intima functions by ablating, coagulating and remodelling tissue leading to neoformation of collagen and elastic fibers in atrophic skin. The thermal properties of the CO2 help stimulate a healing response which increases moisture levels in the vaginal canal, thereby restoring flexibility, tone, and shape.
What are the benefits of the treatment?
The CO2RE® Intima treatment can help restore vaginal health, function, appearance; reduce dryness and itchiness; reduce urinary incontinence; tighten vaginal walls and labia. It is an office-based procedure not requiring any prolonged recovery period.
What does the treatment involve?
The first step is a consultation with our physician to explore your symptoms and for an updated gynecological exam to ensure you are an appropriate candidate for this treatment. If you are not, alternative treatments can be proposed.
Once you choose to go forward with the treatment, the recommendation is for three sessions one month apart though most people already notice improvements after a first session. Each session involves the treatment of the vaginal canal, introitus, and vulva with the laser technology. We ensure optimal comfort during the procedure and little downtime is needed after.
